How did you get into MMA?
Fortunately, when I was 7, my mum was taking fitness classes with my now-coach. So when she heard he was starting a kids Jiu Jitsu class, she took me down, and I loved it. Years later, when I was 12, he started an MMA class for kids, and it turns out I loved it just as much as Jiu-Jitsu.
What does it involve?
When you try to compete at the highest level, your dedication and commitment have to be 100%. My whole life will revolve around it. I spend as much time as I can outside of college training and preparing for my next fight. It will involve preparing my body with weight cuts and strength and conditioning, but it also means sharpening my skills, making sure I’m technically and physically better than my opponents.
What are your goals?
My short-term goal is to focus on my next fight in March on Market Mayhem and prove that I’m capable and deserve to fight on the biggest stage in the world. My long-term goal is to be as active as possible, competing as much as I can while continuing my education.
How will this sponsorship support you?
It will help take the financial pressure off my mum. I do a lot of travelling, and that alone, without all of the kit I need and the training I do, costs a lot. Every time I compete, it costs a lot of money, and it always falls on my mum, so this sponsorship will take so much pressure off my mum and will allow me to compete more.
